rebecky_mo: First look of Usopp after timeskip (Luffy & Usopp: YAY!)
I begin my travels home for the holidays in about...*checks clock*...10 hours. Still have to do dishes, toss out my trash/the food in my fridge, charge my ipod, and finish packing stuff (including my computer).

And yet all I wanna do is veg, watch Storage Wars, and sleep. Go figure. =_=;;

Anyways, this will likely be my last post for a week (as my parents have crappy internet), so I'll wish my F-list a Happy Holidays!!

Hoopefully when you hear from me next week, I'll have some art/fic to share. 5 hours on a train makes for good artistic time. <3

So Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish was on earlier this morning, and since I'll be missing "Mickey's Christmas Carol" on TV tomorrow night (working), I decided to hit Youtube to rewatch it.

And since I was in the mood, I then immediately went off and watched "A Muppet Christmas Carol". Oh Rizzo, how I adore you.<3

"Light the lamp, not the rat, LIGHT THE LAMP, NOT THE RAT!" D8

And since the only special on TV is tonight is "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", I think I'm going to continue onwards after it's done; time to find the Garfield Christmas special on Youtube, and then I'll finish up with my favorite, "A Muppet Family Christmas".

I leave for Xmas holidays on Wednesday morning, and snow or no snow, I'm excited.

So it's been an INSANE month, what with my mom being sick, helping a friend move, and a bunch of other, smaller things that have taken my attention.

It's now 7 weeks away from Anime North, and with losing the next few weekends to work and Easter travel, it's officially crunch time for working on my cosplay. I'm nowhere near ready, with only the one shoulder piece 100% completed.

By tomorrow night, I'm hoping to have my helmet, gauntlets, and other shoulder piece completed. That will only leave the crown and belt to make in regards to accessories.

If I'm lucky, I'll also be able to get to the fabric shop, and get everything to begin sewing on Tuesday (my last day off before Easter vacation). Not expecting it though, that shoulder piece is going to take some time...but at least the bus ride is short, so I can do it first thing Tuesday.

Busy busy busy...

Ah well, at least I can enjoy some anime while I work. *pops in Avatar: The Last Airbender*

So as usual, it's been awhile since the last entry. *sigh* Between helping a friend pack for moving, crazy sales at work, and trying to get this stupid cosplay done, things have been a little nuts.

It all came to a head last week when I got word my mom was in the hospital; it wasn't anything life-threatening, but she was in there for about a week to recuperate. Since I didn't feel like sitting 5 hours away and worrying all weekend, I decided last minute to go up north to cheer her up (I haven't been home since Christmas). She got out yesterday, and hopefully it stays that way.

But now I'm back home, and hoping to get some stuff done this weekend; including art!

Fair warning; I was watching G1 Transformers while I was home, and a certain pairing has EATEN MY BRAIN. (Why can't I ever like the popular pairings? WHY? Dammit.)

Art WIP List
- Piccolo/Makoto "Neither Rain, Nor Sleet" (scanned, coloring in progress)
- Transformers M/M character designs, and SMUT! (pencil drawings)
- Kuwabara/Yusuke "Conscience vs Machismo" (sketched)
- Prize Art for :devff8cb5: (YYH OC's) (sketched)

Art Ideas
- "In Your Dreams" Series (Kuwabara/Yusuke; Yu Yu Hakusho)
- "A Shoulder To Gnaw On" Series (Kuwabara/Yusuke; Yu Yu Hakusho)
- "Time To Shine" (SM/DBZ Crossover, various char)
- "One Step At A Time" (Piccolo/Makoto; SM/DBZ Crossover)
- "Scarred Star" (Piccolo/Makoto; SM/DBZ Crossover)
- "Pollen Nocturne" (Piccolo/Makoto; SM/DBZ Crossover)
And other various Piccolo/Makoto pics. ^^;

I'd love some suggestion as to which planned art ideas you guys might like to see first (after I finish the WIP's, of course.)

XD; Wow, 2 months since I updated, how sad. But what a time it's been! So much to catch you guys up on. Let's start with:

New Job
Yes, I've gotten a new job. Moved to a new city, even! It all happened the VERY last week of November, in which I drove 5 hours for a job interview in Hamilton, ON. 5 days later, I was offered the job, and accepted the job.

The next 10 days were spent in INSANITY. We drove down to Hamilton that very weekend, looked for apartments, found one we liked (but weren't accepted til 2 days before I moved. YEEP.) I gave my notice to my old job, and between working my last shifts there starting packing, buying stuff for the new apartment, getting things settled, ordered cheques (for my rent payments), and half a zillion other things.

I've been here a month now, and it's been going good. (see below in "Living in Hamilton")

Christmas/New Years
Ah, the holidays; I may have just moved a week or so before, but no chance in hell was I missing it with my family. I wound up leaving for home immediately after work Friday the 22nd.

Like, literally. I'd brought my packed stuff with me to work, was done at 4:30, was on a GO Bus to Toronto by 5, and was heading to North Bay by 7:30. It all went rather smooth, actually.

...Until the buses transmisson blew at about 9:30pm. Took over an hour for another bus to get to us so we could continue on. Fun. XP;

ANYWAYS. For the next 9 days I helped my mom make scrumptious Cabbage Rolls (which I better get some of next time they come visit me. D< ), got to see the family I didn't get to say bye to before I moved, had yummy Xmas dinners, updated my former co-workers on how Hamilton was (tell ya, I don't miss working Xmas/New Years Eve there!), and hung out with my family.

Presents? I got a lot of stuff before I moved, so gifts were understandably few. I did get a pair of PJ's, some cookbooks, and some DVDs (Hairspray, Justice League, Old School TMNT).

I was back in my apartment by New Years Eve, and just really spent the night/day chilling out. I was wiped after the week before. It was actually really nice. xD; Went back to work for the 2nd, and that's about it.

Living in Hamilton
So far, so good. Starting to get settled in at the new job, and I'll be going from 9:30-4 soon, giving me a 1/2 hour to learn on my own afterwards. By February, I'll be putting in my full 40+ hours/week.

Which means money. Money is goooood. >_>;;

And I'm finally having a bit of time to explore the area for more than groceries. There's this comic shop a little ways up from my work, and it's actually pretty nice; not only can I get my Sonic comic there, but they sell manga too! ^^ Don't have to go to Toronto every time I need to get the new volumes, or pre-order them (well, except Eroica)!

Also looked at a few Fabric shops in the area for cosplay resources. And lo and behold, one has Black/White CHECKERED fabric! The exact thing I need for my Checkmate cosplay. I'm THRILLED. :D I'mma figure out how much I need and get it ASAP (I will NOT see that stuff sold before I get it).

....I admit, I'm being lazy. ^^; I have to work on a few Xmas Secret Santa pics before month's end (one WILL be done tonight, dammit). Only then will I get to some of my ideas I wanna draw.

But not lively. xD Kinda tired after yesterday. But anyway, HAI GUYZ! Thought I'd fill you in on my vacation thus far. Pretty much the halfway point, so seems like a good time to update:

Sunday: Bus ride was long as hell, was delayed by a massive accident near bracebridge (hey. check monday's paper and see if it's in there for me?), a fire near the Barrie stop, and the bus being overcrowded (some people had to sit in the aisles); didn't even get to get off the bus for food on our 10 minute break. Got into my stop 15 minutes before my bus left (didn't realize it was my stop at first, thought it was the one BEFORE mine), ran across the street, found out where my bus was, and called you super-quick, you know the rest. Moral of the story? "No matter how 'convenient' the bus schedule is departure-wise, TAKE THE FRIKKIN TRAIN"

Got to Michelle's place around 12am (she met me at the bus, so I knew you got ahold of her), and I was tired, but also wanted to hang out. So we stayed up until 2:30 (and I ate precious filling pasta, HUZZAH!), then passed out.

Monday: Didn't do too much (I was still a bit out of it), went downtown, saw Wendy off (she's staying with Michelle during the next few weekends for a course), then went to a Thai restaurant for lunch and got this awesome Thai Coconut Sauce Fish, Mango Salad Roll, and Fried Shrimp with Taro. >9 So good, but there was so much I couldn't eat it all!

Then we went to an Asian Food Store, picked up some pocky, some cool mini-jello shooters with aloe flavoring (it tastes like mild lime jello), and MOONCAKES. =D Haven't tried the Mooncakes yet. After all this, we planned our trip to Niagara Falls; boy, THAT was a chore; the online schedlues were all mucked up, so we had to go all the way down to the station to find out when the bus left, and couldn't even buy our tickets in advance! Got some groceries, and went to bed early (but not before showing Michi the joys of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. 4 eps in, she's already liking it. Now to catch her up in KF's One Piece subs...)

Tuesday: We left the house around 7am (D=), got our tickets, and waited for the bus/ bugged by a guy asking for money for a ticket, wound up giving him some; not likely he was being honest, but hey, you need the benefit of a doubt sometimes... The bus trip was nice, went through wine country (too bad I couldn't stop and get something for mom). We hit Niagara and tried to find our way around and how to get to stuff. Was directed to this Information center, and the guy was helpful (sometimes gave a little TOO much info, so somewhat confusing), got this Niagara Tourist pass that gave us free pass on the 'people movers' (aka tourist buses) that took you all along the falls area.

So we got to hit the Falls themselves, go Behind the Falls (which wasn't too exciting until you hit the Observation deck. =D Hehe, we got wet), and got to the Butterfly Conservatory (that I didn't even know existed before Monday night) which was AWESOME, I ran outta pics while there. *luffs butterflies* ate and drank lots (HOT out), and FINALLY headed out to the pedestrian bridge that would get us over to the States.

After a quick run through customs and a trip over the Rainbow Bridge (hehehe, Rainbows...), I became an International traveller and was in Niagara Falls, NY, USA. Didn't seem too different from Canada besides the American flags (I dunno what I was expecting, really. xD) We hung out on the US sides of the Falls for awhile; took pics, ate and drank more, rested our feet (well, mine). Then we found ANOTHER info center that told us about a Trolley that took us down to a Fashion Outlet Mall (Okay, I want a Dress Barn in Canada. LIEK NOW), where we shopped for a few hours (I didn't get any clothes, but found a cool picture frame, artichoke-shaped candle and bead bracelets).

We then caught the trolley again (which was kinda bumpy), re-crossed the bridge, and waited for our bus back to Hamilton to show up. Didn't get back to Michelle's place until after midnight, so we were DEAD.

So today is a chill out day, I couldn't go far if I wanted too. We're gonna hang at the house, watch some anime, read, I might draw, and we'll possibly hit this cute/pricey/yummy cafe called the Bean Bar for supper (the food is delicious, and they make DOZENS of cakes for dessert.)

So yeah, that's what's happened so far. xD Thursday is 'handing out resume/going downtown' day, and is also SUSHI DAY. Hope I like it as much as that Thai Coconut Fish I had. Fill you guys in on that and my trip home probably Saturday.

So until then! *goes back to flop on the bed*
