HARD QUESTION IS HARD, DAMMIT.
But first instinct is "Beauty and the Beast". I idolized Belle growing up, and the art, the songs...such a huge part of my life.
But coming up a strong second is "Mulan", for alot of good reasons, but none as important as the title character herself.
A Disney Princess who doesn't fit into society's mold, and doesn't really want to. She disobeys every tradition to protect her father, kicks villan ass, gets caught and abandoned, yet still comes back to do the right thing and kicks villan ass, AGAIN. And she does it all her way.
No damsel in distress, and no real romantic interaction until the last 5 minutes of the movie.
Fuck yes, Disney. Gimme some more of that.
